What We Did:
Here is a great project to tuck away for the holidays next year.
You know how fun it is to get holiday cards in the mail? Yeah, well some people don't. So we printed 30 extra Holiday Cards to personalize and send to people in our community who need to be remembered during the season. Sadly, we just never got around to getting the cards out :( We learned again that the trick (as with all holiday cards) is to START EARLY!
How Long it Took:
It would've taken us about 45 minutes once we got all the addresses.
How Much it Cost:
About five dollars for printing and then stamps for 30 cards, about 15 dollars in all.
Would We Do It Again?
Yes . . . for the first time. It's not much extra work if you're already writing up your holiday cards.
Next Time:
Start earlier -- like Thanksgiving!

Community or church leaders seem to know those who tend to get overlooked. Senior care facilities are a good bet too.
I love this blog idea! My husband and I have been wanting to "up" our service time with our children, and this blog has so many great ideas. Our children are still young, 3 and 1, but I don't think its ever too early to start. Thanks for the major inspiration push:)
ReplyDeleteCute kids, Jaymie. Well done, you guys! Thanks for coming up with this blog, it is inspiring! You have such a special family. I hope you are doing well, we miss you so much! Seriously, every time we pass your street, the kids say "that's where Ruby and Max live! let's go play with them!". Hope your holidays were wonderful!
ReplyDeleteMommy Teacher,
ReplyDeleteThanks for your note. I agree, it is never too early to start. The thing that I love the most is that I actually get to be involved in service outside of my family but still get to be with my family. It is hard to find service projects that don't require you to get a babysitter :)
Hey Olivia! Just stop in next time your driving by. We'd love to see you.
